English Democrats
The English Democrats launched in 2002, at which time we had had Scottish and Welsh devolution, with both the Scots and the Welsh being given their own Governments, First Ministers and proto-Parliaments, as well as having Scottish and Welsh Departments to fight their corner within the British Government and institutionalised additional subsidies under the so called “Barnett Formula”.
The Barnett Formula subsidies and Barnett Formula consequentials are paid for by English taxpayers to give extra subsidies to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The last time the operation of the Barnett Formula was properly and impartially considered was in the House of Lords Inquiry into it in 2009, at which time it appeared that Scotland was getting an extra £32bn a year income subsidy, together with a fixed additional percentage of any capital expenditure spent in England – no wonder the SNP were so keen on a spiralling budget for the British Government’s white elephant project of HS2. This alone meant that an extra £10bn was to be given to Scotland for capital projects which they hadn’t even imagined!
In addition to all the poor treatment which England is subjected to, there is the project of the British Establishment to break England up into “Regions”. This, the Conservatives have told us, is because England is too big to have its own parliament! What this, of course, means is that in the end either England will be broken up, or the United Kingdom will be broken up.
Many people have a nostalgia for the United Kingdom. However, it is worth bearing in mind that the UK wasn’t created because our respective Nations actually wanted this, it was created in the era of imperial global power politics to cement the then elite’s powers to, in particular, fight the French.
The first Act of Union of 1707 between England and Scotland was enacted in the context of fighting Louis XIV. The second Act of Union in 1801 with the Kingdom of Ireland was enacted to fight the French under Napoleon Bonaparte. Since there is no imminent prospect of the United Kingdom becoming an imperial power again, the Union places an enormous cost upon England and the English without us receiving any thanks or recompense. Except as senior Conservative politicians have repeatedly told me, that having Scotland in the Union enables us to “punch above our weight on the world stage”!
The history of the English Democrats is as follows:-
The English Democrats launched in 2002 and are the only campaigning English nationalist Party. We campaign for a referendum for Independence for England; for St George’s Day to be England’s National holiday; for Jerusalem to be England’s National Anthem; to leave properly and fully the EU; for an end to mass immigration; for the Cross of St George to be flown on all public buildings in England; and we supported a YES vote for Scottish Independence.
The English Democrats are England’s answer to the Scottish National Party and to Plaid Cymru. The English Democrats’ greatest electoral successes to date include:- in the 2004 EU election we had 130,056 votes; winning the Directly Elected Executive Mayoralty of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council in 2009 and also the 2012 mayoralty referendum; in the 2009 EU election we gained 279,801 votes after a total EU campaign spend of less than £25,000; we won the 2012 referendum which gave Salford City an Elected Mayor; in 2012 we also saved all our deposits in the Police Commissioner elections and came second in South Yorkshire; and in the 2014 EU election we had 126,024 votes for a total campaign spend of about £40,000 (giving the English Democrats by far the most cost efficient electoral result of any serious Party in the UK!).
In the 2015 General Election we had the 8th largest contingent of candidates in England. In the October 2016 Batley & Spen Westminster parliamentary by-election we came second and easily beat all three British national parties. In the 2017 Greater Manchester Mayoral election we came 5th beating UKIP and beat the Greens in all but 2 boroughs.
In the 2018 South Yorkshire Mayoral election we had 14,547 votes and saved our deposit and with a minimal campaign budget achieving 12.8% of the First Preference votes in Doncaster. In the 2021 Police Commissioner election in Essex we got 42,831 (10%) First Preference votes, plus probably the same again Second Preference votes for by far the lowest campaign spending of all the candidates. In the May 2023 local elections we got a councillor elected in Lincolnshire. In the May 2024 Police Commissioner elections we were clearly the foremost party on law and order issues and we got 44,909 votes in Essex (13.6%); and 21,646 in West Midlands (10.1%) and 7,739 in Lincolnshire (7.2%) for the lowest campaign spending of all the parties which we were in competition with, and another Councillor elected.

Workers of England Union
The Workers of England Union is a fully formed registered independent trade union which operates in the legal jurisdiction of England and Wales. The Workers of England Union is the only union which prides itself on doing a fully professional job of representing our members, not only dealing with all ordinary issues that can arise in the workplace for the employees, but also in sticking up for our members as a result of a dispute arising out of their political, moral, religious and social opinions and their workplace free speech rights.
A union has a special and defined legal position in the workplace, in as much as an employee has the legal right to choose to be represented by their union.
None of the Workers of England Union representatives work in the members’ workplace and therefore are completely independent of the employer and can fight the member’s case without fear of any repercussions from the employer.
Having independent Reps also means that the Reps are very experienced in trade union repping and can offer a much higher level of support and advocacy than is normal for workplace colleagues.
The Workers of Union is politically independent unlike the TUC Trade Unions whose primary purpose is to raise money, currently over £25m a year for the Labour Party and for leftist activism.
So, for all employees in England and Wales membership of the Workers of England Union is a very sensible insurance for the enforcement of their legal rights in the employment workplace.
All too often we see cases reported which are lost only because the case has not been properly handled right from the start. With the Workers of England Union you can be sure that does not occur. Our motto is “Together we Win”!

The Workers of England Union is a fully registered certified independent Trade Union with a growing membership whose mission is to represent all types of workers in England. The Workers of England Union represents its members with Representatives who are not employed by the Employer and so are not subject to the usual conflicts of interest which hamper proper representation by other Unions. The Workers of England Union is non-party partisan and aims to fill the gap left by Labour supporting unions that refuse even to mention England.
